Vaccinations
Vaccinations have been able to significantly reduce the outbreaks of dangerous diseases with severe progressions in recent decades. Therefore, we spend a lot of time on in-depth vaccination counseling to clarify and explain the importance of these vaccines.
We can advise you on your planned stays abroad and carry out all of the necessary travel and booster vaccinations for your whole family.
We are happy to provide you with an app-based reminder for your next vaccination appointment.
The vaccination plan of the Standing Committee on Immunisation (STIKO) calls for the following standard vaccinations. These vaccines will protect children from the diseases described below.
Diphtheria
Is transmitted via droplet infection from person to person. Infections of the upper respiratory tract can lead to potentially life-threatening complications, such as myocarditis (cardiac muscle inflammation) and the paralysis of various cranial nerves leading to suffocation.
Meningitis C
Is transmitted via droplet infection from person to person. The course of the disease is particularly life-threatening in children and can amongst other things lead to blood poisoning (sepsis) and possible long-term consequences such as hearing loss, blindness, paralysis or cramps.
Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib)
Is one of the most severe bacterial infections during the first five years of life and has been diagnosed in unvaccinated children in recent decades. The infection is transmitted through a droplet infection from person to person. Possible life-threatening complications are meningeal and laryngeal inflammations along with other lasting effects.
Tetanus
Is a frequently fatal, bacterial-induced disease that affects the muscle-controlling nerve cells. It triggers paralysis and muscle cramps. The bacteria are found everywhere, for example in garden soil, and it enters the body through wounds.
Pneumococcal Infections
Are bacteria that affect the mucous membranes of the nasopharynx. These are transmitted especially by infants. Possible complications include severe infections of the lungs, meninges, middle ear and paranasal sinuses.
We additionally offer the following vaccinations:
Meningococci B
Rotavirus
HPV
Mumps
Are transmitted through droplets from person to person. It affects the salivary glands and other organs. The possible complications include hearing loss, meningitis, testicular inflammation, which in turn can lead to infertility.
Measles
Are transmitted by droplet infection from person to person. Possible life-threatening complications include lung, middle ear or meningitis.
Rubella
Is transmitted by droplet infection from person to person. Possible complications are joint, brain or middle ear infections. During pregnancy, it can lead to significant damage to the unborn child and fetal death.
Pertussis (whooping cough)
Is a bacterially induced and highly contagious disease that, in the worst case, can lead to respiratory failure. Possible complications include bacterial superinfections of the lungs and the middle ear, seizures, and damage to the brain with long-term consequences.
Varicella (chickenpox)
Are transmitted by droplet infection from person to person. It is a highly contagious viral infection that is particularly common in children. Possible complications are cerebellar or brain inflammation, pneumonia or bacterial superinfections.
Poliomyelitis (polio)
Is a virus-related infectious disease, which attacks the muscle-controlling nerve cells of the spinal when unvaccinated and canst lead to permanent paralysis or even death. Possible permanent conditions include circulatory disorders and disturbances of the nutrition of the skin, joint damage, scoliosis of the spine and foot deformities.
